I’m not sure quite how but Slave to Fortune hit the UK number one bestseller spot in the category of young-adult historical fiction on Amazon.co.uk yesterday* and was still there when I woke up this morning, so I reckoned that was worth a short blog .
* #1 for young-adult historical fiction in Books on www.amazon.co.uk; also #1 for Kindle teen and young-adult historical fiction – recorded on www.amazon.co.uk on 12-13 April 2017.
I don’t pretend to understand all the vagaries of the Amazon algorithm that calculates its best-seller list, but I shall enjoy it while it lasts.
2017 has been a good year for Slave to Fortune so far. Sales are also going well in the USA and it’s notching up sales in Australia and a few other countries too.
The novel’s ratings remain pretty good: higher than 4 out of 5 stars on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and Goodreads – could always do with a few more though: if you’ve read the book and are so inclined, I’d be much obliged.
Do please like the book’s facebook page (you won’t get bombarded with posts, I promise), and of course feel free to browse around this website and share anything that you find of interest.
** Update: Slave to Fortune returned to the #1 bestseller spot on Amazon (UK) for YA historical fiction in October 2017. It also made the number one spot for Historical Thrillers on Amazon UK.
